Welcome back to another Cozy Tarot Reading! How was everyone’s week?
Mine was super productive. I’ve been catching up on my filming for my YouTube channel and trying to get back on track with everything! That way I have content coming!
Also, I had posted a poll under my community tab on YouTube for my subscribers to vote for the decks I’d be using for February! The people have spoken and I’ll be using the Song of the Grandmothers Oracle by Kara Simons and illustrated by Mari in the Sky. This will be paired with The Gentle Tarot by Mari in the Sky. They are the perfect pairing combo.
Both links above are unboxings of done of both decks on my YouTube channel!
I also love this combo because it’s very gentle and feels like a comforting hug. Earlier today, two fave YouTubers Tara from Cozy Core Craft and Kelsey from Hygge Tarot did their second live for their Capsule Cards series and their theme for February is embracing warmth. Which these two decks, in my opinion, embrace wholeheartedly.
So, let’s embrace the warmth together and get into this reading!
Cozy tarot Sunday is a week a head reading that I post every Sunday! The reading encompasses a focus for the week, a way to embrace the focus, a challenge to overcome, and a card for self-care for the week.
I already stated above which decks I’ll be using for the month of February, but as always for the self-care portion of the reading, I’ll be sharing the self-care activities from the book Tarot for Self-Care by Minerva Siegel and published by Adams Media.

1- Focus for the week. Grandmother Poppy - lineage
The little poem on the card reads, “Those who came before paved the way for you to bloom. Give thanks, do the same.”2 The guidebook says, “Grandmother Poppy counsels remembrance and forgiveness as an act of service to the lineage we belong to.”3 Both of these make me think of difference things as a focus for the week. On the one hand, the focus can be in terms of ancestors and focus on working with your ancestors this week. Or if you don’t work with ancestors yet, this could be a great time to look into this type of practice and seeing if it’s for you.
Another thought I had was in terms of the forgiveness part. Maybe you have family, that are no longer in your life for whatever reason, but you haven’t gotten past the trauma that was done, perhaps taking the time to work through that (which will take longer than a week but it’s a start) and finding forgiveness in yourself to let go of the hurt to move forward with your life.
2- How to embrace the focus? The star
The star, in my opinion, focuses on self-development. Self-development means “the process in which a person grows or changes and becomes more advanced through their own efforts”4 In simple terms, it’s all about growth. If you start working with ancestors (or already do), you might know that this is an opportunity to learn more about your lineage and that factors into your own growth as a person.
But in terms of the second focus, working through trauma and forgiveness is growth, and it allows you to have more hope for your future because you’re no longer being crushed by your past.
3- A challenge of the week. 4 of stones (pentacles)
There may be a challenge with boundaries this week. You want to make sure that you’re maintaining your boundaries and enforcing them when someone tries to by pass them or make you uncomfortable. You are the boss of you, don’t let anyone push you around!
4- Self-care of the week. 7 of stones (pentacles)
The self-care activities are in terms of mind, body, and spirit. Of course, if these self-care activities don’t resonate with you, just make sure you’re doing some kind of self-care for yourself as self-care is very important!
Mind: Speak positive affirmations aloud. Look in the mirror and say, “I am worthy of abundance. I am powerful. I am loved.”5 You don’t necessarily need to say them out loud if you’re not comfortable, but the affirmations should definitely be in view so you can constantly see them and be reminded of them. You can also use other affirmations if you don’t connect with these.
Body: Treat your body to a detoxing bath soak. You’ve earned it!6 If you’re like me, you might be too talk for your bathtub (lol), you can always take a nice longer than normal shower to relax as well.
Spirit: Be more conscious of the impact your purchases make by buying more environmentally friendly items that aren’t animal tested.7 This is obviously just better for everyone, because typically things that are more environmentally friendly have less chemicals in them.
Until next week, have a good one!
I earn a small commission from Amazon if you end up buying the items via the Amazon links in this blog post. The commission is anywhere from a couple cents to like a dollar or two. Regardless of how much is earned, it is all appreciated. 😊
