Welcome back to another Cozy Tarot Reading! How’s your week been?
Mine? Absolutely busy and chaotic. But glad to be going into a fresh week. Hopefully, it brings something new and exciting, or at least a little bit more peace and quiet. I guess we shall see.
In regards to the next Cozy Tarot Sunday, it’s voting time! I have posted on my YouTube community tab the next set of decks that I would potentially want to use for the month of February. Each option is a oracle and tarot pairing. You have until next Friday to vote!
Now let's get into the reading!
Cozy tarot Sunday is a week a head reading that I post every Sunday! The reading encompasses a focus for the week, a way to embrace the focus, a challenge to overcome, and a card for self-care for the week.
For the month of January, I’ll be using my Practical Magic Inner Witch Oracle & Tarot by Joseph Benitez-Egerton, who owns Grounded by the Moon.
As always for the self-care portion of the reading, I’ll be sharing the self-care activities from the book Tarot for Self-Care by Minerva Siegel and published by Adams Media.

1- Focus for the week. Divination - beyond the veil
As a focus for the week, this is definitely an interesting one. When I pulled it, I had to sit with it for a bit because I wasn’t really comprehending what it could mean. I took a peak at the guidebook to get an idea and I saw the keyword signs. That gave me an idea. Perhaps you have been longing for a sign for something. A project. A decision. Whatever would give you the okay or not to proceed with something. Pay attention to the signs that may be trying to guide you down a certain path. Are you ready for it? Because if you’re not ready, you won’t see the signs that could be right in front of you. When our minds are closed, our eyes are closed too (metaphorically).
2- How to embrace the focus? 5 of earth (pentacles)
The 5 of pentacles is traditionally about loss and hardships. The hardships matches well with the challenge of the week, but in terms of opening up to the signs to guide you, I feel this card is more about reaching out for support. Sometimes when our mind and eyes are closed, we need someone else to guide us into opening up. A second or third or fourth opinion can help us to see what it is we’re missing.
3- A challenge of the week. 5 of fire (wands)
For a challenge, this is a straightforward one. You might find yourself in the middle of some conflict or competition this week. Making sure that you’re maintaining your boundaries and trying to find an amicable solution that works for all parties involved is the best way forward when it comes to the 5 of wands.
4- Self-care of the week. 2 of fire (wands)
The self-care activities are in terms of mind, body, and spirit. Of course, if these self-care activities don’t resonate with you, just make sure you’re doing some kind of self-care for yourself as self-care is very important!
Mind: Commit to making your bed every day for a week. It will instantly make the whole room look cleaner, and you might just love the feeling of crawling into a nice, tidy bed so much that you create a lasting habit out of it.2 I know for myself I love crawling into a tidy bed after a long day of work. Definitely a nice way to destress. I also love the routine of it. If you’re really big on routine, this can definitely be helpful for you.
Body: Try exercises that improve balance, like side-planks, one-legged squats, and yoga.3 Exercise can be a great method of self-care. But if you’re like me, it’s not exactly a favourite. I need to work more on this. Do you?
Spirit: Reassess your emotional, physical, and personal boundaries. Remember that communicating and enforcing them is essential.4 Boundaries are so important in life. So, taking the time to reassess when you need to in order to change things and making sure you’re stating when boundaries are being crossed is the best self-care.
Until next week, have a good one!
