Merry Christmas, Happy Yule
Merry Christmas and Happy Yule, everyone! I wanted to do a spread for the holiday season, and to be in the spirit of Yule and Christmas. So, I found this spread I really liked on Instagram by readingswithjem. Check out the link to give them a follow on Instagram.
I’ll be using my Practical Magic Inner Witch Tarot by Joseph Benitez-Egerton, who owns Grounded by the Moon.
1- Dark Night: What was my hardest lesson this year? 6 of air (swords)
I think my hardest lesson this year has been learning to let go. I tend to hold on too tightly to things, which just ends up being so unhealthy for me mentally. But once I finally learned to just let go and move forward, I just felt so much better for myself, but also, about myself. Less stress and things on my mind just helps to move forward in life.
2- Rising Sun: What will flourish for me next year? 4 of earth (pentacles)
I see the 4 of pentacles, typically, as frugality and keeping your wealth close. But also, it's a sense of stability because there's wealth to keep close. So, perhaps, next year will bring me some more financial stability and that I should be more mindful with how I spend my money. This totally makes sense. I have to keep an eye on my deck spending oop!!! Haha
3- What should I carry into the new year? Cycles (the wheel of fortune)
Cycles are a time for change, so I feel like I should bring an open mind into the new year. Now, I say this because with the wheel, things tend to cycle in and out, but change is inevitable and will happen whether you want it or not. So, being open minded to any possibilities that might arise in the new year is a better use of my time and mind.
4- What should I leave behind? 5 of water (cups)
I should leave behind any disappointments from the year. They happened in 2023, and they can stay in 2023. I should look to bigger and brighter things for 2024, which is how I see the cups behind the figure that are not spilled over. All I need to do is stop being so caught with things that have happened that were disappointments, and focus on all the amazing possibilities that 2024 will bring!
Featuring the mini magic bell from Running Press.
I wish everyone wonderful holidays!
